A fortified defensive structure located near Jiayuguan, China, part of the historic Great Wall of China. This section of the wall was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to protect against nomadic invasions from the north. The Great Wall stretches across northern China, with this particular section near Jiayuguan representing one of the most well-preserved and historically significant segments of the entire fortification system.
