26/09/1998 This battery was built in the early 1890s. During WW2 it is thought to have been used as a radar station with a mast sited between the gun positions. The site was demolished in the 1970s, but it is believed some parts of the battery may still exist beneath ground level. Only scrub land can be seen today on the site. 05/2000 Coastal battery.
