03/10/1998 It is almost certain that a pillbox was erected on this spot as one of a pair built to protect the adjacent Porthminster Point coastal gun battery. The type of pillbox is unknown, but it is possible that it has been buried rather than completely demolished as concrete can still be seen in the grass.
