15/09/2001 Hut used as a Home Guard shelter. The recorders memories are from the 1950s - the hut was approx. 10ft x 6ft constructed of concrete blocks and with a slightly sloping corrugated iron roof. There was a door, but no windows. Outside, on the flat granite outcrop, there had been painted in black a compass rose. It stood on the highest point in the locality and had good views, in particular to the NW.
