Splitterschutzbox

A military bunker located near the coastal area of southern France, constructed during the Second World War as part of the Atlantic Wall defensive system. This type of structure, known as a Splitterschutzbox, was designed to provide splinter protection for personnel and equipment. It is typical of the smaller defensive installations built by German forces along the French Mediterranean coast to guard against Allied landings.
