Movik Fort is a historic German coastal battery located in a commanding position above the Skagerrak Strait near the town of Mandal in Southern Norway. Constructed during the Second World War as part of the Atlantic Wall fortifications, the fort was designed to control the strategic sea lane between Norway and Denmark. Its centerpiece was a massive Krupp 380mm naval gun, one of the largest artillery pieces of its time, with a range of up to 55 kilometers.
The site is a significant example of German WWII military engineering in Norway and has been the subject of preservation and restoration efforts.
