A military bunker located near Dohuk, Iraq, in the mountainous region of Iraqi Kurdistan. This underground structure is part of the extensive network of hardened facilities constructed by Saddam Hussein's regime following the 1991 Gulf War. The bunker system represents the Iraqi dictator's personal protection programme, which saw the construction of numerous underground bunkers and fortified presidential palaces across Iraq during the 1990s.
These facilities were designed to provide secure command and control capabilities in the event of foreign military action or internal threats to the regime.
