Description

This research is automated and may contain errors.

09/1997 Type 23 pillbox, variant. Set in the cliff face east of Crimdon Dene caravan park, this pillbox has been placed to survey the beach to the S. Square in shape it measures 3m x 4m. Due to burial its depth cannot be determined. It is constructed from concrete and would appear to be in a good condition.

Access is via the cliff side of the box but it has been infilled with sand. Only one gun embrasure is visible but it is likely that there is only one. The same type of gun mountings can be seen inside the embrasures.
