09/1997 Anti-tank concrete cubes are visible on the edge of a metalled trackway leading down from the caravan site to the beach. Two of the blocks can be seen and examined very clearly. These are situated on the N side of the track. On the opposite side of the track, the outline of the third block can be made out despite extreme burial by the shifting sand-dunes.
The function of the blocks would have been to deny access from the beach up this small dene where the road has now been built. Prior to the road being built there would have been other blocks covering the whole width of the dene. There is another block to the seaward side of the two main blocks but it is not in situ.
This may be representative of the blocks that stood where the road is now. The blocks are set on concrete plinths and measure 2. 5m high and 2m square.
