Bridge features as part of Western Command Stop Line No 28, along the River Teme. It was said to have a solidly built blockhouse covering the bridge - no trace remains. It is also possible that bridge was blocked with anti tank obstacles. Shropshire Archives 1024/7 - papers of 7 Battalion Shropshire Home Guard state that in December 1941 the bridge was to be provided with all round defence (see reference s).
23/02/1999 Pillbox covering bridge over River Teme; no trace, uncertain if site of pillbox was on bridge or by river bank covering approaches.
