Movik Fort, located near the Skagerrak Straits between Norway and Denmark, is a historic German-built coastal fortification constructed during World War II. The fort once housed the second largest cannon in the world—a massive Krupp 380mm gun with a range of up to 55 kilometers (35 miles) and weighing 337 tonnes. This formidable artillery piece was part of Germany's Atlantic Wall defenses, designed to control the strategic maritime passage between Norway and Denmark.
The fort sits in a commanding position overlooking the straits, making it a significant military installation during the war.
