12/02/1999 Road block constructed by the drilling of about 20 holes, in 4 rows, into the pavement and road. In the event of invasion, concrete plugs would have been removed from these holes and iron stakes inserted. Such road blocks would have been defended by the army or local Home Guard. One of the holes on the pavement is still extant.
