25/09/1996 This pillbox was sited to the N of Porthcurno village, just on E edge of only road entrance to the village. It was one of 3 pillboxes defending this road - all within about 100 yards of each other. It was semi-underground for camouflage purposes, but was demolished after the war during road widening operations. One of these 3 pillboxes still exists and is a type 24. 13/05/1946 Square (or possibly hexagonal) pillbox plotted from air photograph.
