08/10/1942 Anti-landing trenches. A 1960s air photograph shows a clear pattern of trenches similar to other areas alongside the Severn in this area. The meadow is flat and over 0. 5 of a mile long. It would have been identified as being a potential aircraft landing ground. Information from air photograph.
