The Greenbrier Bunker, formerly known as Project Greek Island, was a secret United States government continuity facility located at the Greenbrier hotel in West Virginia. Built during the Cold War era, the bunker was designed to house and protect members of Congress in the event of a nuclear attack on Washington, D.C. The facility remained operational from the 1960s until 1992, when its existence was publicly revealed by The Washington Post.
