The Līgatne Soviet Bunker is a former top-secret military facility located near Līgatne, Latvia. Constructed 9 meters underground, this bunker was designed as a nuclear shelter for Latvia's Communist elite during the Cold War era. The facility remained classified for 30 years, with even employees of the adjacent rehabilitation center unaware of its existence.
Today, the bunker has been preserved as a museum, displaying authentic Soviet-era exhibits that provide insight into the Cold War mentality and military preparedness of the time.
