07/11/1996 Possibly polygonal-shaped pillbox on west bridge. It has been demolished to ground level. Remaining evidence shows that it was of brick (5 rows visible) on concrete. W side measures 10ft, NW side 10ft 8ins (other sides not discernible). Surface of concrete step at entrance just visible in gravel of public footpath.

Pillbox appears to have been polygonal, on the W end of the western bridge. Demolished to ground level. Measures 10ft (W) , 10ft 8ins (NW). 06/05/2001 Foundations of a brick-skinned concrete pillbox of hexagonal plan, with walls around 3ft 6ins thick. The walls were reinforced with expanded steel mesh which is still visible.
