The Līgatne Bunker, located in rural Latvia, is a former top-secret Soviet bunker constructed 9 meters beneath the ground. It was intended to serve as a shelter for Latvia's Communist elite in case of a hypothetical nuclear war. The bunker remained shrouded in secrecy for 30 years, with even employees and clients of the adjacent rehabilitation center unaware of its existence.
Today, the bunker is open to visitors and displays authentic exhibits from Soviet times, providing a unique glimpse into the region's military history and the atmosphere of the Soviet era.
