Movik Fort is a historic German-built coastal fortification located near the Skagerrak Straits in Norway. Constructed during World War II by the occupying German forces, the fort once housed the second largest cannon in the world—a massive Krupp 380mm gun with a range of up to 55 kilometers and weighing 337 tonnes. The site sits in a commanding position overlooking the strategic waterway between Norway and Denmark.
Today, the fort is recognized as a significant military heritage site, though it has been closed to the public due to safety concerns. Its preservation reflects Norway's broader efforts to maintain and restore Cold War and WWII-era military bunkers as part of the country's military history.
