Pillbox

14/10/1998 This pillbox was built on the seaward end of the old Kiln Quay at Flushing and would have been used in the event of an attack on Falmouth Docks (about 50 yards to the S) and Falmouth Harbour. From examination of the quay, which was renovated and resurfaced in 1985, it appears that the pillbox was square in shape. (The recorder recalls the pillbox being in position about 15 years ago and assumes it was demolished when the quay was refurbished in 1985).
