Description

This research is automated and may contain errors.

2000 The Constantine Auxiliary Unit used a small derelict building (UORN 12540) at Tirtytown, just N of Brill Hill, as their first Operational Base. Unfortunately, security was soon breached when the local Home Guard unit used it as a target on an exercise. As a consequence, this building was evacuated and a second OB (this record) was built in an old disused quarry on the adjacent Crowgey Farm.

It was built from nissen-hut shaped corrugated iron sheets and was erected above ground due to the remoteness of the chosen Location. The OB measured 15ft x 12ft and was used mainly to store explosives. (Information to recorder from Mr. E. S. Harris, surviving member of the patrol).
