27/07/1999 Overgrown and boarded up. (Colin Alexanders gazetteer lists it as a type 28a). 01/09/2000 Type 28a anti-tank gun emplacement on E side of swing bridge with field of fire E across River Kennet towards Ufton, protecting bridge crossing. All embrasures are blocked up. Wood-shuttered exterior.

Sign saying Private Fishing affixed. (with plan drawn on form). LARGE RECTANGULAR CONCRETE PILLBOX WITH ARTILLERY EMBRASURES. LISTED IN WILLS 1985 AS DEMOLISHED, BUT STILL THERE WHEN VISITED IN 1990. IS NORTH FACING.
