09/1997 Anti-tank concrete cubes were apparently placed at the mouth of the Dene to prevent access to the beach (and in the 1970s were used to stop the illegal sea coal trade). The blocks themselves sit on a concrete platform the dimensions of which can not be measured due to the build up of soil and mud that has been washed down the Dene. The blocks are 1.

5m x 1. 5m x 1. 5m. Vandals have visited the structures and have left graffiti behind. 25/07/1940 Four anti-tank cubes set corner to corner, blocking opening to small side valley. Plotted from air photograph. 02/05/2003 Four 5ft anti-tank cubes blocking entry into the Gill, set corner to corner.
