01/1998 A roadblock was set up on this bridge as part of the outer defences of Worcester anti-tank island. Responsibility for its defence lay with No. 16 Platoon, F Company of the 1st Worcestershire (Worcester) Battalion HG. The roadblock was probably of the vertical rail type supplemented with anti-tank cylinders.
