21/01/2000 Machine gun emplacement for Lewis gun. There is no sign of the site now. The 1940 map is not precise and the recorder (Mr. Mick Wilks) has concluded that the Lewis gun would be sited on the relatively high land overlooking the exit from the railway cutting in order to fire on any enemy column using the railway to infiltrate Worcester City defences from the W (or to cross the River Teme) Information from an Home Guard map, dated December 1940, held by the Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Office at Norton Barracks.
