11/10/1999 These anti-landing obstacles were erected along several hundred yards of fields at the top of the North Cliffs, Portreath at Reskajeage Downs. Holes were dug at intervals and heaps of earth piled alongside to form obstructions to prevent German troop-carrying aircraft landing and taking off again. The obstructions can be clearly seen in RAF aerial photographs taken in June 1942 (copies attached to the record form).
