Description

This research is automated and may contain errors.

08/2003 Type 22 pillbox by the former entrance to the Receiver Site of RAF Canewdon radar station. 09/02/1953 Hexagonal pillbox plotted from aerial photograph. Indications are that originally this was a tall pillbox, similar to that to its S (see UORN 13637). 13/06/2002 Type 22 concrete-faced pillbox, at very edge of road.

Embrasures now blocked in. Metal rods protrude from roof. Faces E along road. 1972 Hexagonal structure plotted from OS 1: 2500 sheet. 14/03/2000 Type 22 pillbox. Bent bits of metal on roof that presumably held camouflage netting. Almost all embrasures have been blocked up. There is one rifle embrasure next to the entrance, and possibly a second one that has been blocked up.

Small holes either side of the entrance. Internal blast wall.
