01/1998 A roadblock was set up on this bridge as part of the outer defences of Worcester anti-tank island. Responsibility for its defence lay with the West Unit 1st Worcestershire (Worcester) Battalion HG. The roadblock was probably the vertical rail type supplemented with anti-tank cylinders.
