This is a well preserved medieval fortress. This archaeological site is currently still under exploration. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in history and archaeology. The fortress can be reached by a road that goes trough the forest. It is accessible by off-road vehicles or high cars, but I would recommend hiking there for better experience. The hike takes something between 1 and 2 hours per direction. The trail has relatively fair denivelation. If you decide on hiking I would recommend visiting in the early spring or late autumn, as there are a lot of bugs during the summer.
Its a long way to get there. There is a road for a car, but I would recommend a walk :) The remains of the fortress are well preserved.
The fortress Lutitza is one of the most well preserved old fortresses in Bulgaria. There are now archaeological excavations there and the most interesting is yet about to come.
