05/11/1997 Two batteries of flame fougasses were proposed to be installed at Fladbury Bridge in May 1942. Each one would have consisted of one or two 40 gallon drums of inflammable liquid. Information from a list of proposed flame fougasse sites on one of the Home Guard files held by the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment Association at Norton Barracks.
