21/01/2000 Weapon pits. There is no sign of the 3 pits now. Two were constructed S of the pub covering the approaches to the bridge from that direction and one to the E, alongside the lane from Colletts Green. The 3 pits are now covered by a car park and access facilities. Information from an Home Guard map, dated December 1940, held by the Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Office at Norton Barracks.
