05/01/2000 Heavy machine gun emplacement. A Browning heavy machine gun post was established here by the Home Guard in 1940 to cover Bransford Bridge, which is about 500yds away to the S. The Home Guard map indicates a built structure; nothing now remains. Information from a Home Guard map, dated December 1940, held by the Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Office at Norton Barracks.
